4/15.
As for those of your women who are guilty of lewdness (indecency/excess), call to witness
four of you against them. And if they testify (to the truth of the allegation)
then confine them to the houses until death take them or (until) Allah
appoint for them a way (through new revelation/legislation).
4/16. And as for the two of you who are guilty thereof
(lewdness/indecency), punish
them both. And if they repent and improve, then let them be. Lo! Allah
is Relenting, Merciful.
4/19. O ye who believe! It is not lawful for you forcibly to
inherit the women (of your deceased kinsmen), nor (that) ye should put
constraint upon them that ye may take away a part of that which ye have
given them, unless they be guilty of flagrant lewdness (open
idecency). But consort
with them in kindness, for if ye hate them it may happen that ye hate
a thing wherein Allah hath placed much good.
17/32. And come not near unto adultery. Lo! it is an abomination
and an evil way.
24/2. The adulterer* and the adulteress*, scourge ye each one of
them (with) a hundred stripes. And let not pity for the twain withhold
you from obedience to Allah, if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day.
And let a party of believers witness their punishment.
24/3. The adulterer shall not marry save an adulteress or an
idolatress, and the adulteress none shall marry save an adulterer or
an idolater. All that is forbidden unto believers.
24/4. And those who accuse honourable women but bring not four
witnesses, scourge them (with) eighty stripes and never (afterwards)
accept their testimony. They indeed are evildoers.
24/6.
As for those who accuse their wives but have no witnesses except
themselves; let the testimony of one of them be four testimonies,
(swearing) by Allah that he is of those who speak the truth;
24/7.
And yet a fifth (time), invoking the curse of Allah on him if he is of
those who lie.
24/8.
And it
shall avert the punishment from her (wife) if she bear witness before
Allah four times that the thing he saith is indeed false,
24/9. And a fifth (time) that the wrath of Allah
be upon her if he speaketh truth.
24/10. And had it not been for the grace of Allah and His
mercy unto you, and that Allah is Clement, Wise, (ye had been undone).
24/11. Lo! they who spread the slander are a gang among you.
Deem it not a bad thing for you; nay, it is good for you. Unto every
man of them (will be paid) that which he hath earned of the sin; and
as for him among them who had the greater share therein, his will be
an awful doom.
24/19. Lo! those who love that
slander (scandals) should be spread concerning those who believe,
theirs will be a painful punishment in the world and the Hereafter.
Allah knoweth. Ye know not.
24/23. Lo! as for those
who traduce (accuse) virtuous, believing women (who are unaware)
careless, cursed are they in the world and the Hereafter. Theirs
will be an awful doom
24/24. On the day when their tongues and their hands
and their feet testify against them as to what they used to do
(lie),
24/33.
............Force not your
slave-girls to whoredom (prostitution) that ye may seek enjoyment of
the life of the world, if they would preserve their chastity. And if
one force them, then (unto them), after their compulsion, lo! Allah
will be Forgiving, Merciful.
33/30. O ye wives of the Prophet! Whosoever of you committeth
manifest lewdness (open indecency), the punishment for her will be doubled, and that
is easy for Allah.
33/31. And whosoever of
you (wives) is submissive unto Allah and His messenger and doeth right, We
shall give her her reward twice over, and We have prepared for her a
rich provision.
33/58.
And those who malign believing men and believing women undeservedly, they bear
the guilt of slander and manifest sin.
